The Chavruta
Project
The Chavruta Project
Easily preventable. Difficult to fix.
Many children from families with a cancer patient struggle with emotional and academic issues, which may lead them to abandon their roots.
It often begins with the absence of routine or parental guidance, spiralling when an academic problem goes untreated, and is fed by the child anxieties, when he craves attention and understanding.
These are vital conditions for the development of any child, and our aim is to help preserve them.
A ‘Chavruta’ mentor is allocated to each child. Joint study makes friendships blossom, leading to heart-to-hearts, an understanding of the child’s needs and the provision of suitable support. This relationship is a stabilizing factor. It keeps the child socially secure, so that he will only grow from the challenge.
