Daily kids’ activities

Hundreds of children with cancer and their healthy siblings come to learn and have fun at our Jerusalem Day Centre throughout the day and after school. Children can make up lessons they’ve missed at school, learn an instrument and take part in crafts activities. A fleet of buses transports children from up to an hour and a half away.

Zichron Menachem’s camps and retreats offer children with cancer a chance to recharge their physical and emotional batteries, and escape the challenges and worries they face during treatment. We host three camps each year, along with a camp each summer in Europe.

Hair Donations

Giving of yourself

Zichron Menachem collects hair from donors around the world to make much-needed wigs for children who have lost their hair during treatment. Your generosity helps make these children feel beautiful inside and out.

Throughout the year, Zichron Menachem takes children on trips during school vacation and holidays. What’s more, we host parties, special events and workshops at the House of Dreams that entertain, educate and excite. These breaks from the regular routine help our kids escape their worries and focus on having fun.

Our on-site portable hospital is fully equipped with advanced medical equipment and prepared to deal with patients’ needs at all times during camps and outings. The clinic is staffed by experienced medical staff who look after the children’s physical and emotional welfare at all times.

The Therapeutic

Petting Zoo

It is well known that certain animals, will help children and youngsters to express feelings and simply “open up”. This therapeutic method has the ability to break into the patient’s soul and to give him or her a wonderful opportunity. Reptiles, furry small mammals, and birds will all be part of the project. Birds will be kept in a special facility in order for patients with weak immune system will not to be endangered.

and Guidance Center

In Zichron Menachem we believe that dreams, do come true. We are currently working with a professional team on a unique and significant project: “The Education and Guidance Center” (EGC). After many years of experience with young cancer patients, their families and volunteers, we have understood the necessity of improving the general public’s awareness of cancers implications and the tools required to cope through the traumatic experience . The EGC will be more than a simple visitor information center. It will allow each audience – the patient’s families, our volunteers and the general public – to learn in its own way about the disease through an advanced, one of a kind multimedia experience.

A Beauty

and a Wig Salon

Zichron Menachem created the international Hair Donation Program in which real hair is collected in order to create quality wigs for cancer patients free of charge. In the privacy of our in house salon a custom made wig will be designed and fitted to the patients in an intimate, understanding caring manner. Since a wig has to be professionally maintained, as many of the patients do not possess the know-how, we will provide a wig-maintenance service. The salon will also be used to pamper the young patients and their dear mothers. Services will include Manicure, Pedicure, and other hair salon services.
